lighting problem fixed!

I own a small repair shop that is located inside an old pole barn. I have been repairing the old 8 ft long florescent lighting for the last 5 years, replacing ballast and bulbs. I've had one light that has been out for several months and have been dealing with it for some time now. I ordered one of these LED high bay units, picked it up at the store, and got it all hung up today. All I can say is, when my other lights stop working I'll be buying more of this exact LED High bay.
Light output: 1 of these units can replace 2 easily, and possibly 3 eight foot florescent lighting units. The true key to these units working effectively is they have to be hung very high, as in at least 12 to 15 feet. I will replace the remaining 5 eight foot florescent lighting units with 3 more of these lights.
I do not see these lights working for a normal home garage with an 8 foot ceiling. The ceiling will not be high enough for the light to broadcast the light properly.

Great For Lighting A Garage!

The brightness and quality of light is excellent. I have a 32'x20' garage with 10' ceilings and I used four of these equally spaced in two rows of two. The color of the light is 4100K, which is mid-range between warm white (3000K) and daylight (5000K). According to a sticker on top of the fixture, the lights must be suspended and they cannot be surface mounted. Chains and mounting hardware were included. Surprisingly, there were no directions supplied whatsoever in any of the four boxes I purchased. I found that a bit strange. One fixture I purchased had a bent lens frame, another one had two missing screws that wouldn't allow the fixture to hang level. I had to exchange those. A third fixture had a loose screw inside the lens which I will remove at some point when I clean the lens. Aside from the quality issues out of the box, I found the fixtures to be the perfect solution for the garage. Much better and brighter than standard fluorescents.

Like having the sun in my garage

I just installed this light in my small-ish one car garage. My goal was to remedy the dim lighting situation I had going on in there. I couldn't see a darned thing. Well now I need sunglasses when I'm in there! It's a bit TOO bright for this size garage, to be honest, but I'm not about to take it back down. I'm glad I installed it and glad I won't need to be 10-12 feet up on a ladder changing bulbs - EVER.

Let there be great lighting

Installed 6 of these lights in my 40x30 shop about 16' high. They give off enough light to make a difference even with daylight streaming through windows and doors. I have been extremely pleased with my purchase. Install was straight forward and simple. Im very glad there will not be any light bulbs to change out.

These are the best lights for shop or garage

Put 4 of these in my shop and it's like a bright sunny day in there. Awesome lights for the price, so I highly recommend.
